Services:
Emergencies:
The
Practice runs a 24 hour Emergency Service and all
emergencies will be seen as soon as possible by a
Vet. If you are bringing an emergency to the surgery
it will be helpful if you telephone first and tell
the Vet or Receptionist the nature of the emergency
so that preparations to receive you can be made.
Outwith
office hours it will always be necessary
to telephone first as there will be nobody
at the surgery to see your pet.
Bringing Your Pet:
In order to ensure
the safety of your pet and yourselves,
all dogs should be on a collar and
lead or carried. Cats should be in
a secure cat basket (cardboard, plastic,
or wire cat baskets can be bought
at the surgery). Rabbits, hamsters,
etc., should be brought in secure
containers.
Dogs should be given ample opportunity
to empty bowels and bladder before
coming to the surgery.
Housecalls:
We
are happy to make house
calls although we prefer
to see clients at the
surgery where we have
the facilities, drugs
and staff to attend to
your pet's needs. Because
of the time involved,
house calls are considerably
more expensive than consultations
at the surgery.
Operations:
Most operations will be arranged by the Vet during consultations.
However, routine operations (spays, castrations etc.) can be arranged
over the telephone.
We carry out operations on most weekday
mornings. Animals should be brought
in at 9.00am and should have nothing
to eat or drink from 6.00pm the previous
evening. In most cases it will be
possible to collect your pet the
same day, but in some circumstances
it may be necessary to keep your
pet overnight. A heated ward of stainless
steel kennels is available for this.
